THE PROBLEM
Solo service providers were losing business to systems built for someone else.
Hairdressers, nail technicians, and personal trainers were relying on WhatsApp and phone calls to manage bookings. No-shows cost real money every week. Existing tools were built for large salons with teams and budgets, not independent operators.
Fresha and Square exist, but both have moved upmarket. Fresha's 2025 pricing shift toward commission-based models opened a clear gap, something purpose-built for the one-person beauty business in Ireland and the UK.
The problem wasn't a lack of booking tools. It was a lack of booking tools that understood what solo meant: no admin team, no IT budget, and needing everything to work from a phone.

Bukeen isn't one app, it's two distinct experiences sharing the same design system. Most booking tools optimise one side and compromise the other. We designed both from scratch with equal care.

Beyond scheduling and deposit collection, the features that make Bukeen genuinely useful for the people it's built for.
Stripe deposits + Tap to Pay
Clients pay a deposit at booking via Stripe — card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. The remaining balance is collected in person with Tap to Pay on iPhone. No card reader needed. Funds sit in the provider's wallet and withdraw after service completion.


Shareable booking page
Every provider gets a branded subdomain for their Instagram bio or anywhere online. Portfolio, live services, pricing, and real-time availability all in one link. Clients book in under 60 seconds. No account, no DM threads.
Booking policies — built in, shown upfront
Providers set their own cancellation and no-show rules. Terms are shown to clients during checkout and accepted before the deposit processes. No ambiguity, no awkward conversations.


Automated reminders — SMS and push
Clients get SMS reminders at 48h and 24h before their appointment. Providers get push notifications for new bookings, cancellations, and payments addressing the no-show problem that costs providers £200+ a month.
